Advertisement on Trains

today i saw some sort of train ( i don't know what is it called ) with a huge advertisement on it.. it looks interesting but sadly i was only able to see part of it..
so i find that actually advertising on trains is actually a good way of promotion. say for example i fully sees the advertisement that i missed earlier, it might have influenced me on something.

so here i made some research on advertising on trains..

 1. too small, and the writing on it is a lil hard too see.. the advertisement might be blocked by dividers or shrubs if you are on the other side of the street..

 2. interesting enough but the colour is a little out.. on your first glance, you can know that it is advertising is about food, but it need you to take a closer look and what kind of food it is advertising and promoting.

 3. very clear and message will be interpreted instantly and easily on first glance. if you can't get it on your first glance, might as well live on mars..

 4. it advertise itself. usually good for newly operating train system to let people know what is it called

 5. different part of train for different mood yet the same purpose and same advertisment. this shows that the product that they are advertising offers the buyer various style/purpose in a single object. the train will also look interesting as every part of it is different instead of the usual one that use the repetition method on every part.

6. this is what i call a healthy advertisment. a good and not selfish advertisement. it is a caring one! instead of advertising their own product, this advertisement is very general, it basically makes the viewer want to eat fruits which is healthy. it does not specify on where to buy the fruit or something, it is just plain fruit!

Precedent Studies - Bus Stop Advertisment

On most of the bus stop that exist in the world or what we've been seeing everyday, most of it surely consist of a company's advertisement, services or products. there are various ways of presenting the advertisement/services/products on a bus stop depending on your creativity.

if you are creative enough, your design will catch people's eye, and if your design is Great, it will catch people's eye and the viewer will fall for it! But if you failed in designing the advertisement, it gives no impact, basically just filling the white space, for me might as well leave it blank and it will look cleaner..

however, here are some pictures of bus stops that have advertisement on it, good or not, it's your call

Precedent Studies - Bus Stop

this is just a rough precedent studies that i've done on bus stops.. i've searched a few interesting designs of bus stops.. here are some pictures of it;

 1. this bus stop doesn't look like a bus stop. it looks like a place for you to have evening tea with your friends just that what it is missing is the table.. very interesting english design with the greens around it..

 2. a swing at a bus stop.. this can kill the time while you are waiting for your bus.. you would not feel bored..

 3. look very modern and futuristic, simple design with only 2 colours..

 4. This bus stop can actually make you miss your bus.. just that the problem is that the seat is a little to small and can't fit a lot people.. a bus stop for kids perhaps?

5. now i save the best for for the last.. i find this bus stop the most attractive. as you can see, it is a little higher than the ground, it has a platform, the way i covers also makes it interesting. the good thing about it being covered is that you won't get water splash and dirty air..

Assignment to find a brand

each student is assigned to find one MALAYSIAN brand/product or service of their choice.. this is for the bus stop's assignment, i guess we are suppose to design the advertisement on the bus stop as the template and design of the bus stop are all the same for every student.

of course we are suppose to do precedent studies of a few companies.
then choose 1 out of all

so here are some that i am planning to do some research on
1. London biscuits
2. Bonia
3. Yusof Taiyoob
4. Stabilo
5. Primeworks

Some Research on information Counter

After been given the task of taking picture on information kisok , i made some extra research on information kiosk and counter , and some other cool design..

well here are some of the pictures of the kiosk and counter that i find it interesting;

first thing that ran into y mind as i see this information counter is SIMPLE! the colours of the counter mainly consist of white which make it looks spacious. it also gives me the "relax" feel as i look at it. and for sure, i will approach and look around if i see this counter in my real  life...

now this one looks elegant.. i assume it is placed in ax expensive shopping complex or something..the wood panel, the font and the colour scheme gives the professional look when i look at it.. the lighting seems just nice, not too much not too dark.. perfect!

this information counter gives me a mood of  "chill and relax" and i really feel like going into this picture..  what makes this information counter interesting is the glass behind it, you can enjoy the spectecular view outside.. usually, information counter just paste picture of beautiful and nice sceneries, but in this case, they use a real one!

as i googled information kiosk, this thing catches my eyes..  it look very modern and a lil futuristic. how cool if every shopping complex can replace the current information kiosk with this one :)

ok this will be a little different, but stil it is an information counter.. we usually can see this in other country mostly in europe and america.. why they have this tourist information? because they have a lot of tourist of course and this thing actually attract more and more tourist as they find it wouldn't be hard if they are traveling and got lost in the middle of the city. there's always tourist info!
question is, Malaysia also have a huge amount of tourist, why we don't see this in the middle of KL? urmm, governments' call..

1st Task, Information Counter and Information Kisok - The Gardens

1st Task, Information Counter and Information Kisok - The Gardens

Hi there,
As for my first task, given by Mr,Zul, i took a picture of the information counter and information of The Gardens Shopping Mall located in KL.

The Concierge
  1. view from left back of the concierge

  2. Left view of the concierge..

  3. Front left view of the concierge

  4. Front view of the concierge

  5. Back left view of the concierge

The Concierge - As for the design ,  it seems fine for me. The colour of the information counter may look a little dull if you only see it. But if you are looking from a perspective of the whole of the mall, it suits the mall. This aligns because the mall carries a label of high-standard mall  and a luxury status. So, a funky and some weird shaped concierge will look odd in the mall, no?

About the size of the counter might seems a little small to be placed in the mall, but as it is a luxury kind of mall, the visitors are less. Let's take Sunway Pyramid for instance, the mall have a huge amount of visitors per-day as compared with the gardens, and hence it's information counter is bigger in size.

The only disadvantages that i see in this information kiosk is that if you can only notice the concierge if you are entering from the main entrance. If you are entering from the other entrance, the one linked with Mid Valley Megamall, which most people does, it is hard for them to see the counter as the huge wooden wall is blocking it.. The wall that has decorated items in it. Others seems fine to me..

Information Kiosk

 1.  side view of information kiosk

  2. view from behind of information kiosk.

 3. another side view of information kiosk..

  4.front view of information kiosk..

Here's the interactive touch screen operated kiosk.. This kiosk is perfect and very easy to use for me and i'm sure a lot won't be having problems with it. As compared ti the usual information kiosk, i find the shape and design of this information kiosk is a little unique, it gives me the imbalance feeling when i look at it..plus not the just the kiosk itself, the management also provides the pamphlet for the visitors.

Information Kiosk 2

1 Front view of information kiosk

2. side view of information kiosk

The interesting thing about this mall is that it provides the visitors with 2 types of information kiosk. One is interactive touch screen and another one is just a standard kiosk. One of the advantage of this is in case of emergency that the interactive touch screen is not working. and another  use of this is for tose who are not good in interactivity and prefer the old style, they can have a look at this kiosk..

Now about the design of this kiosk, it is simple, the items are displayed and ordered very well..

So that's all for my 1st task..
thank you very much..
